We missed this interview with artist Nate Hill about the A.D.A.M. Project because it was hiding out in Grub Street. “The main body of the human is a decapitated dog that also had its arms and legs cut off. When I picked it up, one of my friends lost his shit and threw up in the bathroom.” Silly us, assuming a food and restaurant blog would only cover edible stuff and not a “human” made of scavenged animal parts and road kill. Where the Hell Do We Get Vegan Oxtail Now?

Veggie Castle, the former White Castle turned vegetarian eatery in Flatbush, is no more. “The end of a 10-year lease is to blame, according to Cindy Bernard, daughter of owner Viburt Bernard. She said the landlord wanted to sell the lot to someone who plans to tear down the building and develop a new commercial space. In the meantime, “distraught” describes the mood among her regulars.” There’s another Veggie Castle on Liberty Avenue in South Richmond Hill, Queens. But that’s a small consolation for this loss.
