Photographer Bryan Derballa shares some photos of Jay, “a former drug-dealer and ex-convict that began hustling at the age of 13.”
“Now 34, Jay has spent almost half his life in prison. Two years ago, he married Gladys, a well-educated school teacher. They live together in the projects where she grew up. Jay claims that her love has saved his life and for the first time in his 15 year-long addiction to heroin, he began seeking methadone treatment. Everyday is a struggle but not without hope.”
In addition to the photos, there is also an audio slideshow.

Bryan went to a wrestling match in Brooklyn and took some beautiful photos of Lucifer Darkside, The Southener (who wore a noose around his neck), Lucious Lance, Mad Dog and Tiberious beating the snot out of each other.

Remember the olden days when battles were waged with muskets, bayonets and cannons? We don’t, but some folks across the river in New Jersey do. Bryan took some photos as reenactors remembered how easily the British captured Fort Lee.
On November 20th, 1776 Lord Cornwallis captured Fort Lee. A victory for the British and a harsh blow to the American forces. 231 years later a group of very dedicated Americans celebrated this important historical event by donning breeches, weskits and tri-cornered hats while brandishing muskets. So fucking cool.
