Stolen REVS Surfaces on Craiglist
Craigslist is pretty much the one-stop spot for everything you could possibly want: new apartments, better jobs, sketchy “massages”, drunk clowns, cheap bikes, or weirdos as crazy as you are. It’s not surprising then that this is where a 4 foot tall, 80 pound metal sculpture by REVS turns up after being ripped right off the street. We’ve got no love for the collectors (read: assholes) who jack REVS sculptures from the street, but it’s hard to understand why they wouldn’t hold on to this after the trouble of prying one loose.
Just 1500 bones and this baby is yours.

How is it stealing if REVS left it on the street?
Yes, He put a lot of time and effort into making it but thats part of the game. You leave it out there for people to see, expect it to get stolen, buff, detroyed, etc.
Much respect to REVS and I dig his work but I wouldn’t pay 5$ buck that thing.

Not stolen in the sense that REVS owns it, but stolen in the sense that it belongs on the street, not some dudes internet yard sale for an insane price.

Gotta agree with Notorious on this one. It’s hardly “stealing” an object if said object is abandoned. That’s what REVLON does with these sculptures; he abandons them on the street. so, rather than pay $1500 to get one of these jammies on Ebay, go out and grab your own.

Revs isn’t leaving it on the street so one jerkoff can take it. He’s welding it on the street so EVERYONE can see it. Regardless of your definition of stealing, it’s a dick move to take them and you should have more respect for his work than that.

If it was abandoned.. Remember he does put some of them up with permission and in that case the sculpture then belongs to the land owner. Then it is a crime… and if the land owner sees it on the net being sold the police can now trace the IP address back to the seller.. Gotta love technology… $1500 wont even pay for the retainer….
