MUL Wholetrain Video Hits Ebay

madeulooknyc-mulnyc-ebay.jpg

We’ve fallen behind in reporting on the MadeULookNYC wholecar graffiti drama, but we’ll fix that. To recap, 10 subway cars were painted with the name “Made U Look” in late December, and shortly thereafter a website selling t-shirts of the hit appeared (albeit under the name MadeULookNYC). Finally, because of the website’s shady business we speculated that the NYPD might be behind it. Although graffiti writers criminals in general do some stupid things (like DRO caught breaking into a store while videos in his car of his crew painting), selling t-shirts via Paypal seems too dumb.

Now, to silence critics and cash in, MULNYC is auctioning live video footage of their feat on Ebay. Though we’re curious about the legitimacy of the video and the auction is only at $25, we’ll probably hold off and invest our money in the amazing Britney Spears hair art for sale. That seller has 99.3% positive feedback, and MadeULookNYC has none, to say the least.

    Here’s a few thoughts….I’ll add to theories……

Maybe its not the NYPD and…..

It’s some guys that work for the MTA and this was an inside hit and they are cashing in…Think about it…Why havent they been caught and how did they get such nice shots. If this auction is legit and they get paid, it would be pretty interesting.

Here’s another one, maybe it’s really just MUL and they’re just having fun with the media and making a score. After there’s been alot of talk about this.

Another possiblility, this is a NYC based crew and they are who they say they are. Could these guys actually be smart enough to pull this off and score with the sale of the shirts and this video? This could actually set trends with other big writers.

And of course as everyone speculates it could be the NYPD.

I’m not a big fan of graffiti however I can’t say that I dislike the piece either, It really does look kind of cool. This piece in my opinion is actually art and not that street scribble shit. Since this story first broke I have been reading all these internet stories and have been watching to see what happens next. My only real problem with this painting 10 subway cars is where is the MTA’s security of our trains if this turns out not to be an MTA stunt.

    Just a few thoughts!
