Jace Mural on Houston Street
After you’ve spent a couple hours fighting for a crowded glimpse of 11 Spring Street, you might wander up to Houston and Bowery to see this Jace mural. Since Jace went over the nice illegal pieces they had running, TABOO and HOST18 took the spot back with a couple tags. A bunch of the artists putting up work in the building have been putting up work on the street too.

if this guy came to new york and blatantly went over two huge, illegal pieces in a prominent spot, getting a couple tags over his “art” as punishment means he got off easy. i wish he got caught out there, he needs a lesson. this whole 11 spring street thing is a joke.

Fuck that Spring street nonsense…fuckin’ steet art jocks goin’ over real graff…just look what W.(ac)K. Inter(w)act did to me on that corner…splattered paint all over my (illegal) shit that was running for years…what a fuckin’ punk….’07- take back the streets from the art school lames!

I agree with you Chowtime, however you’re observation doesn’t really apply here because Host and Taboo do think beyond tagging and fill-ins. Jace went over the pieces they had done. I’m not totally disagreeing with you, but I think it’s funny people are surprised that they would come back and cross Jace out after that.

I don’t know about the Houston St thing - I was speaking to all these comments about Spring St. Are they really complaining that a nothing throw up got covered - or are they jealous that people were lining up around the block to see the work?

HOST and TABOO killed it. I never heard of this JACE, the only JACE i heard of JACE BA who bombs freights and works at a european paint distro spot. Street artists get a little fame, and they all of a sudden become graf. artists……thats bullshit.
